Q: Will General Mills make a product or financial donation to my organization?A: General Mills does not provide one-time gifts of products or
financial support for individual events.
We seek to excel in the area of community service, just as
we do in our business activities. We
wish we could fulfill all of the requests we receive from many worthwhile
organizations, but the volume of the requests makes it impossible.
To better meet the needs of as many people as
possible, we made a decision to channel our food contributions through an
excellent organization called Second Harvest. We donate over 10 million pounds of our products annually to this
national food bank and to relief efforts.
General Mills channels its philanthropic dollars
through the General Mills Foundation, a 40-year-old national leader in
corporate giving and community service. Last
year, the General Mills Foundation provided more than $20 million in grants and
contributions to non-profit agencies throughout the United States, primarily in
communities where General Mills has facilities. The Foundation's activities focus on strengthening families and
developing children and youth; helping economically disadvantaged individuals
attain educational and economic goals; reducing poverty; and supporting
cultural enrichment within communities. return to top
